Gerald Ryan’s Star 3yo filly Melito is fit and ready for Saturdays Winter Stakes Fillies & Mares WFA at Eagle Farm.The daughter of Redoutes Choice will be looking to end her run of Group 1 placings by taking out Saturdays $320,000 Winter Stakes for the Filly’s and Mares, Melito is coming off a fantastic run in the Doomben Stradbroke Handicap in which she ran 2nd behind Black Piranha in a very classy field. Beaded also comes out of the Stradbroke in which she ran 4th and the two look to be the ones to beat on Saturday.
Luckily for Melito she wont have to contest the race against Hot Danish whom didn’t nominate for the race, there are no markets for the race yet although we expect Melito to open a short priced favourite ahead of Beaded and Set For Fame.
